zentio keeps a few small pieces of information in your browser so the site works: to keep you signed in, to remember your language, and to notice when something breaks. This page lists every one of them, explains what each is for, and tells you how to clear them. It covers our marketing site at zentio.travel and the zentio web app. For everything else we do with your data, see our Privacy Policy.
The short version: we only store what the product needs to function. We do not run advertising cookies, we do not follow you around other websites, and we do not sell anything about your visit.
What we store and why
Keeping you signed in
When you log in to the web app, our server sets two cookies. They are marked httpOnly, which means scripts running in the page cannot read them, and they are only sent to zentio.travel.
| Name | What it does | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
access_token | Proves to our server that you are logged in on each request. | Minutes. Renewed automatically while you use the app. |
refresh_token | Lets the app renew your session without asking you to sign in again. | Until you log out. |
Logging out clears both. Deleting them from your browser simply logs you out.
Remembering your preferences
These live in your browser’s local storage rather than in cookies. They never leave your device and we cannot read them from our servers.
| Name | What it does | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
i18nextLng | The language you picked in the web app. | Until you clear site data. |
zentio.lang-banner-dismissed | Stops the marketing site from suggesting the Spanish version again once you have dismissed the banner. | Until you clear site data. |
| Layout preferences | Small settings inside the web app, such as how wide you left the map panel or which view you last used on a trip. | Until you clear site data. |
Noticing errors
We use an error-monitoring service to tell us when a page crashes or an action fails. When that happens, it receives technical details about the error, your browser or device, the page you were on and, if you are signed in to the app, your account email and name so we can follow up. It may keep a small identifier in your browser so that related errors are grouped together. We use it to fix bugs, not to track you elsewhere.
Content from other companies
Three features load content from other services. When they load, those services may set cookies of their own under their own policies. We do not control those cookies.
- The product video on our homepage is hosted on YouTube. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. See Google’s privacy policy.
- Maps and place search inside the web app come from Google Maps Platform. See Google’s privacy policy.
- Tour recommendations on our website and inside the web app come from GetYourGuide. See GetYourGuide’s privacy policy.
What we do not do
- No advertising. We show no ads and we do not let advertising networks place anything on our pages.
- No cross-site tracking. Nothing we store is used to recognize you on other websites, and we do not use web beacons or tracking pixels, on the site or in the emails we send.
- No consent banner. Everything we set ourselves is needed for the site to work, so there is nothing to opt in or out of. That is why you will not see a cookie popup on zentio.
How to control cookies
Your browser lets you view, block, and delete cookies and site data at any time. If you clear zentio’s data you will be logged out and your saved preferences will reset, but you can keep using the site.
Blocking all cookies for zentio.travel will prevent you from logging in to the web app, since the session cookies are how the app knows who you are.
Cookies and browser storage, briefly
A cookie is a small text record a website asks your browser to keep and send back on later visits. Local storage is a similar mechanism, except the data stays in your browser and is not sent with every request. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by another company whose content appears on that site are third-party cookies. Everything we set is first-party; the only third-party cookies on zentio come from the embedded YouTube and Google Maps content described above.
Changes to this policy
If we add a cookie or start using a new service that stores data in your browser, we will update the tables on this page and change the date at the top. Material changes, such as adding analytics, will also be mentioned in the app.
